About

This site was created by a couple of guys that needed an outlet to review, rant, vent and provide entertaining features all regarding the quirks of the video game industry. Jon (eboku)

The founder and contributor for “The Pixelation Room” – This guy is based in New York City, a self-taught nerd since a very young age. He grew up spoiled with every console from Coleco Vision to Playstation 3 and just about everything in between. While A self-professed Nintendo fan – He loves the video game industry just as much as games itself. He lives for the drama! Figuring that creating this site would be a fun creative outlet to talk about things that people in his real life don’t care as much about (which is ironic considering his day job and thus driving force behind this). The site will work as a personal blog in addition to everything else! When he is not writing for the site or beating women in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” for the NES, he is formulating theories for “Lost” and watching “The Room” on loop.

Jon’s Picks: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Skies of Arcadia, Orange Box, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda,  Jet Set Radio, Mass Effect, Xenogears, Castlevania,  Capcom Vs SNK, Parasite Eve, Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door,  Mega Man, Unreal Tournament 2003, Metal Gear Solid, Balloon Kid, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Bubble Bobble

Wright (BaconSamurai)

A gamer born and raised Wright had a truly auspicious start to his gaming life when at the age of 8, he received a Super Nintendo and a copy of Chrono Trigger, the first video game he would ever play. At 10 his dad showed him what happened when you hit the “door open” button in front of a stripper in Duke Nukem. At 12 he bought a PS2 with spare change. These experiences shaped him into the person he his today, a guy who when asked why he’s going to graduate school, responds with “if you can’t beat the next fight, you sometimes have to grind”. When he isn’t ranting about how Americans can’t make a good game unless it’s set in space or how everyone who hates Final Fantasy XIII should shut the hell up, he is an aspiring animator and creator of the award winning “Bacon Samurai” cartoon. He also looks damn good in a vest.

Wright’s Picks: Earthbound, Star Ocean II, Legend of Legaia, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Gitaroo Man, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 (and 4), Okami, Phoenix Wright, No More Heroes, House of the Dead 2, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Final Fantasies III, VI, IX, X, XII, and XIII

Giovanni (marioprime)

From the Sega Genesis, to the Sony Playstation, to the Nintendo GameCube, he grown alongside generation after generation of gaming. But in addition to this, Giovanni is a filmmaker attempting to snuggle into independent filmmaking. His film studies have only recently began bleeding into his love of video games, leading him to think heavily about video games as art. Always trying to think of ways to push the envelope in all forms of art and entertainment, he has landed on the Pixelation Room to share his rants with the good people of the internet. And to keep consistent: When he’s not complaining about the state of video game movies, he’s watching German films about screaming children, playing Halo 3 online under the persona of short story loving opera major, and making animations about crabs, who are also dads.
